Do not add any keywords in your business name UNLESS it is part of your business’s name.

Create a compelling and concise business description that accurately reflects your brand and services. Ensure to use your main focus keyword in your business description. For instance, if you are a house cleaning service, you may want to write something along the lines of:


“Welcome to Sparkling Clean House! We are a trusted house cleaning company dedicated to providing top-quality services that leave your home beautifully clean and fresh. Our experienced team of professional cleaners are committed to exceeding your expectations with our meticulous attention to detail and reliable service. From regular maintenance cleanings to deep cleaning, and move-in/out cleans, we tailor our services to meet your specific needs. We take pride in using eco-friendly products that are safe for your family and pets. Sit back, relax, and let us make your home shine. Contact us today for a spotless and inviting home environment.”


In the above service description, notice how we highlighted different services, deep, regular maintenance, and move-in/out service. We also included a strong selling point of using eco-friendly products that are safe for pets and your family. The key takeaway is to use relevant keywords naturally, but avoid keyword stuffing.



Choose the Right Categories


Select relevant categories that best describe your business. Be specific and choose primary and secondary categories that accurately represent your products or services. This helps Google understand your business better and display it to the right audience. If you happen to not find the ability to add a specific service because it is not listed on Google, then do not worry, the workaround to this is to have service pages on your website using that service as your focus keyword. That way anyone looking for that service will be able to see your Google Business Listings because that service is listed on your site with supporting content that is SEO optimized!



Upload High-Quality Photos


Visuals play a crucial role in attracting potential customers. Some customers shop a local service by choosing one that has great case work of their past work. Add high-resolution photos that showcase your business, including your logo, interior and exterior shots, products, and team members. Optimize images by adding descriptive filenames and alt tags. 



Encourage Customer Reviews


Positive reviews are essential for building trust and attracting new customers. Encourage satisfied customers to leave reviews on your GMB listing. Make Sure That Reviews Being Left Contain Keywords That Are Important To Your Business

Additionally, it is good to have service location pages for each city you offer service to.
